Snowflakes Keep Falling On My Head

We had snow in Pretoria yesterday. This is a pretty huge deal since the last time this happened was in 1986. So, lots of excitement. 

Except... I really didn't like the snow. I had never seen snow before and I must admit, I wasn't all that impressed. It didn't look at all like it does in the movies. Plus, it was effing cold. 

Whoever is in charge of the weather is totally messing with us. On Sunday it was as sunny as anything. Monday was a little nippy but it was bearable. Yesterday it flippin' snows. 

This means that, once again, I'm playing anywhere but here. And today I'm going to Saint Petersburg (during the summer mind you).

I really want to go to Russia. They have such a rich history and the most amazing sites. Plus, I really want to see Lenin's body. Anybody know where his body is on display, if it still is?

All The Places That I'll Go...

It is effing cold again today in the normally warm, sunny Pretoria. I have to tell you that I cannot wait until summer. This cold is not working for me at all.

So I'm going to Thailand today. I don't know much about Thailand. I've seen some absolutely beautiful pictures and one little clip at Flight Centre that really confused me. Someone playing golf. Why fly all the way to Thailand to play golf?

Anywhere But Here

It is pretty freaking cold in Pretoria today which has led me to play another game of "anywhere but here". Today I'm going to Turkey. The cool thing about Turkey is that it has some incredibly beautiful beaches and has a whole bunch of historical landmarks that would make this history buff squeal with delight.

Crikey Moses It's Cold!

Okay, so before you whip out your Captain Obvious bullets and load them into the gun you fondly refer to as No Shit, I know that since it's winter it's supposed to be cold. But I think that it's a fact that bears repeating. 

I hate winter. I cannot function. I'm like a really old, rusty car that won't start when it's cold. And when it does start, it clanks and groans. I can't even get enthusiastic about my birthday (it's tomorrow. I'm going to be 21).  

But I'm going to try and cheer and warm myself up. I remember watching an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where Willow and Buffy were playing a game called "anywhere but here" (I think that's what it's called). That's what I'm going to do now. I'm going somewhere warm and with lots of history.

I'm going to... Vienna.
